VE & VJ Day 80 – Honouring Legacy, Demanding Fairness

October 03, 20251 min read

Introduction
In 2025, the world marks
80 years since the end of the Second World War. VE Day and VJ Day anniversaries are opportunities to honour the sacrifices of millions. But they also remind us that remembrance must be matched with action for veterans still waiting for justice.

The Legacy of Sacrifice
The veterans of WWII fought for freedom. Many came home to rebuild the nation despite lasting wounds. Their courage set the standard for all who followed.

What About Today’s Veterans?
Decades later, thousands of Armed Forces personnel are still fighting — not on battlefields, but for recognition of injuries sustained in service. For those living with NIHL, the injustice of Crown Immunity has denied compensation for too long.

Justice4Heroes’ Message
Commemorations are vital, but they must go hand in hand with change. Our petition, now approaching 18,000 signatures, is a call to ensure that every generation of veterans is treated with fairness.
